In
its first six months, SB-Cal has already been
instrumental in developing adoption of “On Bill
Financing” by all CA utilities beginning in 2006,
providing over $30M of energy-related access to capital
opportunities for CA small businesses. We led the fight
towards securing funding and staffing of the Small
Business Advocate’s Office, and we’re actively
supporting important legislation in the areas of health
care, workforce development and governmental regulation,
all of which were identified by small businesses as
high-priority items of concern. SB-Cal is also at the
forefront of efforts to press for the implementation of
workers compensation reforms.
SB-Cal puts currently available technology to good use
in reaching out to small businesses to directly obtain
input on your concerns and suggestions. We then
take your input and through non-partisan legislative
lobbying and SB-Cal Action Initiatives, turn it into
small business-friendly policy and legislation.
What are SB-Cal Action Initiatives? A pro-active way of
addressing small business issues by not only identifying
problems, but also developing solutions that form the
basis for effective new legislation in Sacramento.
By
combining our pro-active solutions based approach
together with very affordable membership rates, SB-Cal
will serve as the active voice for thousands of
California small businesses empowered to act forcefully
